Two organisms. One body. That's lichen. Five artists. One pavilion. That's us.

Lichen — part fungus, part alga — survives by being fundamentally interdependent, and it lives on a register we barely notice. It reads air quality years before we'd think to check: absorbing what drifts past, keeping a record in its own tissue. It notices what we ignore, simply because it isn't paying attention to us. That's the invitation — to experience nature beyond a human-centered perspective, through an interactive pavilion and a living digital archive. Not nature as backdrop, but as its own attentive, independent thing.

We are five artists from different practices, different ways of seeing, brought together through the arts of change programme around the theme of Care & Action. Our work is distinctly our own and unmistakably shared — connected by concept rather than style, by coexistence rather than compromise. Exploration, connection, coexistence: not just what the project is about, but how we're trying to make it.

This project does not ask to be finished. It asks to be tended — slowly, and only when there is space. We are not here to add to the pile. Lichen grows without urgency. It does not perform. It simply, quietly, becomes. We want to invite, not push: each other, and anyone who finds their way here.
